Date Night Hair
Hello! I finally have time to blog! It is SUPER great to have free time. I'm loving it! So, I went out with Matt last night and wanted to do my hair real quick.
I got this effect by curling my hair the same way (clip down) all the way around my head. I didn't wrap my hair around the curling iron this time, I used the clip. It is a one inch conair curling iron I got for ten bucks at target.
Then after I was done curling I blasted my whole head with my blowdryer on cold air. (I've heard this holds the style).
After that I brushed out my hair using my normal hair brush and teased the top a little. I added some glossing cream to control the fly-aways.
I liked the style but I think wrapping my hair around the iron gives me more volume towards the the top of my head. But it was good to try this. =)
This is just a shot of my new gold colored tunnels and my new gold chain necklace. I found it at For Love 21 and I loooove it!

Strong is the New Skinny
Hey there! So I finally had an epiphany about my health situation the other night. I was at Benihana's with the family for a birthday dinner (nearly everyone I know was born in May!). I headed to the bathroom and noticed my arms looked weird. It was as if the natural elasticity of my skin was starting to give, like my arms were not meant to hold that much fat.
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not overweight and I don't believe young girls should be too worried about their weight. I think the focus should be on health. However I have NOT been healthy in the least lately! I was eating to the point of uncomfortable fullness and then just sitting in my room watching various shows. Some of my habits I don't want to give up, but if sitting watching online TV is something I love to do, I need to get off my tushy and workout so I can feel good when I do go out! So I developed a plan.
THE WORKOUT:
It looks innocent enough, but in about 20 min you will feel like this...
But then, when you've realized what a beast you are, you will feel more like this...
I also lifted some weights to take care of my arm issue. My new motto is "Strong is the New Skinny". The goal isn't to look a certain way for everyone around me, but to feel powerful and in control of my body and health. I've also been eating lots more fruits and veggies and have been cutting back on meat and dairy.
Maybe I'll even feel confident to put up some bikini pictures eventually! =)
What gets you moving?

Photo Opps
Broke ANOTHER re-usable cup (are they called tumblers?) so after talking to a man in front of me in a Starbucks line, I bought the double insulated Starbucks grande sized tumbler (I'm just going with that name.. it sounds correct). So far so good. The cup is thick enough to withstand my on the go lifestyle so far, but then its only been 2 days.
Getting close to the end of Dracula as well. My very dear friend Jenna bought me a magnetic bookmark, and as I was playing with it I discovered I could turn it into a heart. Perfect photo opportunity!
Any little (or big) accomplishments in your life lately? Sometimes we forget to celebrate the small victories in life.

The sock bun!
I have been searching for new hairstyles and had heard of the sock bun but my hair was too layered to make it look good, until now! I toughed it out and went for it and I LOVE the result! Effortlessly chic in a couple easy steps! (This video is where I first saw this method)
I hope you try it! If you do let me know what worked for you! Maybe I'll share a couple more hair tricks I've dug up on the internet soon! <3

Small Happiness
Hello! Almost done with the semester so hopefully that means more and more posts! This first picture is of my wedding magazines and the start (of what I hope to be) my veil! Its an experiment but I'm trying not to go broke tying the knot so I will be hand making a lot of details in this wedding.
Also I have started a new journal today. One of my teachers, who is just amazing, always tells us, "what you don't know about yourself will rule you". I've been feeling quite overwhelmed lately, my room has been a disaster, I'm always working on homework last minute, and my diet is continually changing along with my weight (and usually not in a favorable direction). So I decided I would try to get to know myself and figure out what my stumbling blocks are.
My first revelation has been, if it can't be done perfectly, fully, or give me instant gratification; I give up. I have no patience! No patience= no production for me! My first order of business was to create a game out of cleaning for 10 minutes. Then after I praised myself for my work and forgave myself for not having it all the way done. Lets see if this method works!
I hope all your lives are going well! Leave a comment!
